The Pentaverate is an American comedy streaming television miniseries created by comidian(?) Mike Myers for Netflix, inspired by conspiracy theories from his 1993 film So I Married an Axe Murderer. The series premiered on May 5, 2022, and consists of six episodes.

Premise:

Since the Black Plague in 1347, five men have been working to influence world events for the greater good. One unlikely Canadian journalist finds himself in the middle of a mission to expose the truth behind the secret society and, in the process, saves the world.

Its Genre is listed under Comedy/Conspiracy. This is done for several reasons not just with this program (think programming the mind of the masses) but with all of the mainstream programs. The Pentaverate is just the Illuminati in disguise and they put the comic twist on it to further demonize anyone who might question it for what it really is hidden in plain sight. They love to label anyone who tries to show the truth as a conspiracy theorist.

Conspiracy theories have been around quite a while. Merriam-Webster states that the earliest usage of the term “conspiracy theory” that it could identify is in 1863. This is likely to be due to a letter that appeared in The New York Times that stated that people who believed that the English were meddling with American politics over the secession of the Confederate states were engaging in a conspiracy theory, which the author also stated was impossible to be a reality due to the country’s focus upon Europe and Asia. 

The actual term “conspiracy theory” emerged much more recently. It was only several decades ago (think the Kennedy assassination & 911) that the term took on the derogatory connotations it has today, where to call someone a conspiracy theorist functions as an insult.

We that have been given eyes to see and ears to hear are now able to discern all things, so that being said, from this point on, please refer to us as conspiracy realists.
