Celebrity Birthday's for September 28th

HOLLYWOOD Walk Of Famer 🌠 belated BIRTHDAY🎂 shout-outs for September 28th goto 🥁…

American television personality, TV variety show host, sports & entertainment reporter, syndicated columnist for the New York Daily News & the Chicago Tribune and Walk Of Famer Ed Sullivan (September 28, 1901 – October 13, 1974). He has a star on the HOLLYWOOD Walk Of Fame in the Television Category.

Though not today's fellow Birthday célébrants, I'd be remiss were I not to include some of Ed Sullivan's fellow Walk Of Famer/Sat anists who's careers got a huge boost by appearing on his variety show. They are Lucille Ball, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Jack Benny, Johnny Carson, Rodney Dangerfield, Sammy Davis Jr., Phyllis Diller, Judy Garland, Alfred Hitchcock, Bob Hope, the Jackson's, Tom Jones, Danny Kaye, Eartha Kitt, Jerry Lewis, Gina Lollobrigida, Sophia Loren, Maryln Monroe, Debbie Reynolds, Mickey Rooney, Frank Sinatra and The Three Stooges. I could continue but I'd be here all month.

He is principally remembered as the creator and host of the television variety program The Toast of the Town, later popularly and, eventually, officially renamed The Ed Sullivan Show. Broadcast for 23 years from 1948 to 1971, it set a record as the longest-running variety show in US broadcast history. "It was, by almost any measure, the last great TV show," said television critic David Hinckley. "It's one of our fondest, dearest pop culture memories."

*Why are the thousands of "stars" in my portfolio inverted? You can take any "star" on the Walk Of Fame, flip it, and reach the same conclusion. For a complete explanation click the link in my IG bio or click the link here > bit.ly/2U3wXSk
